Hero image

For the 10th edition of our Groes Girl series, we sat down with Erica Barry. With a growing online community, Erica has cultivated a wardrobe that blends timeless pieces with playful details and unexpected touches. We discuss her approach to personal style, the accessories she never leaves home without, her favourite spots in Dublin, and how she styles some of her favourite GROES pieces, including the Erin Blazer and James Trousers.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU GOT INTO CONTENT CREATION.

My name is Erica Jane Barry. I am a fashion lover with an eye for all things unusual, elegant and fun. Content creation wasn't something I ever planned to pursue - it grew naturally from sharing the things I genuinely love. When I started college, I became much more confident in my personal style and began using fashion as a way to express myself. Around this time last year, I started documenting more of my life online, from my outfits to my travels and everyday moments. The response was incredible, and it showed me that people really connected with authentic, personal storytelling.

YOUR STYLE IS SO FUN, WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHEN CURATING AN OUTFIT? ARE THERE CERTAIN DETAILS, SILHOUETTES, OR FABRICS YOU ALWAYS COME BACK TO?

For me, it’s all about how an outfit feels. I love pieces with beautiful structure and a great fit, but that are still comfortable and effortless like tailored trousers, classic shirts, and a chic pair of loafers. Fabric and texture are really important to me too; I love linen, cashmere and 100% cotton. I always look for something timeless that will last and make me feel good. I’m also always playing with accessories; bag charms, bracelets, and a great pair of sunglasses can completely change a look.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE WAY TO STYLE THE GROES ERIN BLAZER AND JAMES TROUSERS?

My favourite way to style the GROES Erin Blazer and James Trousers is to keep it really effortless but still polished. I love pairing them with a simple fitted top or the Florence Shirt in white so the tailoring really stands out, and then building on that with accessories. I’d style it with Izabel Display rings to add some colour, Tom Ford sunglasses to give it that cool but chic look, and finish with Posa loafers for function and fashion. It’s one of those looks that feels really timeless but still has personality.

WHAT ARE YOUR CURRENT FAVOURITE ACCESSORIES THAT YOU THINK ARE WORTH THE INVESTMENT?

Right now I’m really into accessories that feel both elevated and practical. Things you’ll actually use every day but that still make an outfit feel special.

The La Coque Française phone chain is a big favourite of mine; it’s so stylish but also really functional because I always have my phone close by.

Tom Ford sunglasses are another staple. The lenses are perfect, they feel amazing to wear, and they instantly make any outfit feel 10x cooler.

And I’m also loving bag charms at the moment; they add such a fun, personal touch to any bag and kind of tell a story about you. I also feel like they always get so much admiration in the best way.

FOR ANYONE PLANNING ON VISITING DUBLIN SOON, WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 RECOMMENDATIONS ON PLACES TO VISIT?

For anyone planning a trip to Dublin soon, I have a few favourites I always recommend.

For drinks with your besties, it has to be Caribou. it’s 100% my go-to for casual drinks, food, and the best vibe for a fun night out in Dublin.

For a daytime wander, I love all the shops and coffee spots on Drury Street. Places like Loot Vintage and Costume are amazing if you’re into unique finds and great brands, it’s perfect for a bit of shopping while you’re in the city.

And for a special dinner, I’d say Rosa Madre. The food is incredible, and they also have such a beautiful selection of wines and champagnes. It is the perfect place to go!
