The Groes Girls // Series 001 Introducing Morenike

At Groes, styling is a core part of our brand - our pieces are all intentionally designed to blend with your own wardrobe in a way that feels effortless and personal. We’re inspired by how our customers and friends make fashion their own.

We are so excited to be introducing The Groes Girl series. A celebration of the customers, creatives and friends of the brand who embody our ethos of inspiration and expression of personal style.

Starting our series with a close friend of the brand, Morenike Ajayi. Content creator and the founder of Moresque, a weekly Substack where she shares her musings on style. Known for her effortlessly elevated approach to dressing, Morenike embodies the essence of The Groes Girls: timeless, intentional, and inspiring.

We met Morenike last week where she styled The Florence Shirt for two effortless day-to-night looks for Spring, and asked her a few questions on her personal style journey.

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Morenike, and I am a content creator and the founder of Moresque, a weekly Substack dedicated to my thoughts on style.

How would you describe your personal style?

Effortlessly elevated. I go for pieces that make a statement on their own, so I don’t have to overthink my outfits. Pants with a unique silhouette or a textured top - things that ensure I look put together with minimal effort.

Which piece from Groes do you resonate with the most?

The Kate Blazer. It perfectly embodies my “effortlessly chic” approach to getting dressed. The button-up collar detail sets it apart from a typical blazer, making any outfit more interesting without trying too hard.

Who are your style muses?

Peggy Gou, Amanda Murray (@londongirlinnyc), and Gilda Ambrosio (co-founder of The Attico). I love their bold, maximalist approach to style - it inspires me to take more risks when shopping and styling.

What’s on your spring wardrobe wishlist?

What are your go-to styling essentials?

A heeled pump (I am Carrie Bradshaw’s daughter), a baseball cap, and a cool-toned brown lip liner.

If you could recommend one book and one podcast, what would they be?

Anything by Richard Osman—his books feel like sipping Earl Grey tea with lavender biscuits: cozy and warm. And for podcasts, How I Built This with Guy Raz. I’m obsessed with founder stories and love hearing the real, often messy, journey behind the world’s most successful businesses. It reminds me that anything worth having requires dedication and hard work.
